againstthewallCarmen Nemeth is an in demand bass player, who is well known for her growling sound and contrapuntal bass lines. Her ability to capture rhythmic elements are unrivaled. Carmen has been tearing up the music scene since she was a child. After playing her first professional gig at the age of 14, she knew there was nothing better than playing music.

Carmen’s extensive training at the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida with Matt Bonelli (Bee Gee’s) and her completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance from The New School, NYC, where she studied with such greats as Reggie Workman, Kermit Driscoll, Lincoln Goines, Eddie Gomez, Vic Juris (Guitar), Junior Mance (piano), and Charles Tolliver (trumpet), prepared her for the versatile demands of a Bass Player in the NY Scene.

Carmen has had the pleasure of performing with such artists as Dennis Davis,  Drummer for Stevie Wonder and David Bowie, Bobby Sanabria’s New School Latin Jazz Ensemble, Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson,  drummer for The Roots and Common.

Carmen has a long resume of work done with many artists and can be heard on many recordings.

Carmen also has a  Master’s of Arts in Teaching degree, teaches music in a Westchester County Public School District and resides in NY.
